Service Level Agreement Life Cycle

The lifecycle of the SLA cloud is an important part of providing cloud services. There is a strong correlation between the phases of the cloud service lifecycle (acquisition, operation, cessation) and the 7 phases of the cloud ALS. At this point, it will be determined whether a cloud service achieves the purpose of the service level provided (SLO) when providing the cloud service. This could mean that cloud service providers are taking corrective action to avoid ALS violations. Why does it matter? SLAs can be used to monitor the cloud service provider, assess compliance with the cloud service, or detect potential violations where a repair may take place. Philipp Wieder is deputy director of the GWDG Computing Centre at the University of Gottingen. He received his doctorate from the University of Dortmund. For several years, he has been researching clouds, networks and service infrastructure. His interest in research lies in the agreements of distributed systems, level of service and resource planning. He has been actively involved in the FP7 IP PaaSage, [email protected] and SLA4D-Grid projects. Constantinos (Costas) Kotsokalis received his degree in electrical engineering and computer science from the National Technical University in Athens, Greece, and his doctorate in computer science from the Technical University of Dortmund in Germany.

His expertise is in the field of distributed computing in general, with the main focus being on service level agreements. Other scientific themes include distributed algorithms, command/resource planning and data management. Costas has worked in several international projects and in various fields such as broad network, network/cloud computing, ALS management, remote instrumentation and online health.
